Inter House Folk Dance Competition.
Downpour was heavy but the spirit for dancing with enthusiasm and excitement was up. Today 28 July,2018 was a colourful day at MLZS Roorkee as the students showcased their talent to represent the diverse culture of incredible India for inter-house folk dance competition. The event was for grades 6-8.The children looked beautiful in the shining and colourful costumes and the performances were mesmerizing. Four states represented by the students included Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan and J&K

Social media is harmful for the students.
An inter-house Debate competition was organised at MLZS Roorkee on July 24, 2018 for the students of Grades 8-9. The topic for debate was “ Social media is harmful for the students”. Students were very excited to express their views on the given topic as they also use social media for various purposes and could easily relate themselves with it. The event was a great success as it helped the students to understand the advantages and disadvantages of social media in their lives.

“Earth has right, too, to live without pollution”.
An inter-house Declamation contest was organised at MLZS Rooekee on July 23, 2018 for the students of Grades 6-7. The topic under discussion was “Earth has right, too, to live without pollution”. Students expressed their views on the given topic very thoughtfully with great concern towards saving mother earth against pollution. The event was a great success as it helped the students to understand their role in controlling various types of pollution. Principal of the school, Ms Kavita Agarwal , also addressed the students and made the students aware about many facts related to environment.

Green Day Celebration.
The tiny tote of MLZS (LKG, UKG and class I) celebrated “Green Day” on 17th July 2018 with great zeal and enthusiasm. Children came dressed up in green costume, brought variety of props green in colour and each one of them was given a chance to come forward and speak few lines. Significance of green colour was discussed. We thank all parents for their efforts in making the event a success!

INTER HOUSE POEM RECITATION COMPETITION.
An inter house poem recitation competition for classes III to V was conducted by MLZS Roorkee on 14th July 2018. The young enthusiastic participants recited poems with confidence and poise on stage. The theme of the event was 'Rainy Day' and it was delightful to see children performing with colourful props based on the theme. The first position was bagged by Gandhi house whereas the second and third position went to Columbus and Da Vinci house respectively.
Malala Day Celebration.
Mount Litera Zee School, Roorkee observed 12th July 2018 as Malala Day. During the assembly, the Principal addressed the students and enlightened them about Malala Yousafzai's inspiring life.

VAN MAHOTSAV CELEBRATION.
MLZS Roorkee is celebrating Van Mahotsav week from 1-7 July 2018. A number of activities were organised on July 4, 2018 as part of this festival to make the students aware about the significance of this festival and thereby educate them about how to take care of the environment and forests as an individual. Special morning assembly was conducted by the students of class VIII where they enacted a scene about Bishnoi community of Rajasthan who are known for their contribution towards saving forests and natural resources. Inter House Poster making competition was organised for classes 6-8 and sapling plantation was done by the students of Pre Primary section. Students of classes 1-2 participated in campaign for saving trees and save earth. For Classes 3-5 a Slogan writing activity was conducted. Students participated in all these activities very keenly and with great enthusiasm.

Investiture Ceremony 2018-19.
"Leadership is not a position or a title, It is action and example"
Investiture ceremony 2018-19 was held at MLZS Roorkee with great ferver and enthusiasm on May 18,2018. All the members of democratically elected new student council were full of zeal and pride when the principal of the school Ms. Kavita Agarwal formally conferred the titles on them and officially appointed them on various posts of the students council. Parents of the members of student council also witnessed the ceremony and felt very proud of their wards achievements.

Mother's Day Celebration
'God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers.' -Rudyard Kipling
Mother's Day was observed at MLZS Roorkee on May 11, 2018. Students conducted a special assembly to express their deep love and respect for their mother. Principal addressed the students to make them understand the importance of infinite love and care given to them by their mothers and also told them to be always obedient and caring towards their mothers.

Inter House Basketball Tournament 2018-19.
An Inter House School Basketball tournament was organized at Mount Litera Zee School, Roorkee on 9th and 10th May 2018.
The atmosphere was electric with the cheers of the students and the enthusiasm of the participants.
Matches were played in Junior and Senior(Girls and Boys) category.
In Junior category final match of the boys was played between Columbus and Einstein which was finally won by Einstein. And final match of girls was played between Gandhi and Einstein and Einstein come out to be the winner.
Senior (Boys): Match was played between Columbus and Davinci, Columbus house won the match.
Senior (Girls): Match was played between Einstein and Columbus , Columbus house won the match.
Congratulations to all the four houses for a brilliant game and with good house spirit.
Over all Championship won by Columbus house in Senior Category (both girls and boys) and by Einstein house in Junior Category (both girls and boys).


Labour Day.
May Day or the Labor's Day was observed at MLZS Roorkee On May 1, 2018 as CARE GIVERS DAY. Special morning Assembly was conducted by the students to thank all the members of support staff. Students presented THANK YOU badges to all support staff. Principal of the school addressed the gathering and enlightened the students about the importance of labors day and dignity of labor.

ELECTIONS: Student Council 2018-19.
Leaders for Tomorrow- MLZS Roorkee conducted Democratic election for the Student Council for the session 2018-19. The whole process began on April 18, 2018 when the students filed their nominations for various posts. A short listing of the candidates was done by the teachers on the basis of set criteria. After that a period of one week was allotted to the shortlisted candidate to deliver their election speeches and gather support for themselves through canvassing & campaigning. Finally the voting was done through Secret Ballot on April 26, 2018. The whole process was a great learning experience for all the students of classes 6 to 10. Results of the election eagerly awaited.
